Ishqiyoun actor Pawan Shukla: It’s good for the industry that real, relatable subjects are being made since the advent of OTT

Pawan Shukla plays the role of Mr Khanna in Ishqiyoun. The actor always wanted to collaborate with writer and director Payal Saxena and Elixir production, so when the opportunity came he was more than happy grabbing it.

“I had a wonderful time shooting Ishqiyoun, and working with Payal Saxena, producers Himanshoo Pathak and Wilfred Sequeira has been a special experience. Each new project adds value to the growth of an artist. I’ve done different characters and every time it has been personal growth for me. I enjoy exploring different psyches as it allows me to try something new, and challenges me to do something more,” he says, adding that he also liked the catchy title of the series.

A lot of new age content is being made these days, for different mediums. “It is good for the industry that real and relatable subjects are being made, especially since the advent of OTT and there are a lot of opportunities for everyone. There is also a change in the way the audience have been viewing content and have become more acceptable and open to new things,” he adds.

Praising OTT a little more, especially the web series culture, Pawan shares, “There is entertainment for every age group. This was much required. We all want our personal space and have our personal favourite. And, this understanding and clarity of what the audience wants was the need of the hour.”
